Position Summary
The Supervisor - Senior may work in any type of food location on client premises. This individual provides oversight at the direction of management on site to coordinate routine work activities of workers and/or service employees engaged in food operations or services at either larger complex facilities or locations in the areas of commercial, health care, schools, universities or other establishments. This individual will provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Senior Catering Supervisor

Job Overview:
Provides supervision for catering services at Nazareth College to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. General Responsibilities:
- Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for catering services to ensure account retention.
- Fulfills contractual obligations to the client.
- Plans projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables, and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan.
- Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery.
- Promotes and supports workplace diversity initiatives.
- Directs daily operations of catering services and/or dining services to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory, and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
- Directs a variety of catering operations including, but no limited to, served & buffet style meals, receptions, bar service, breakout sessions.
- Ensures the quality of catering operations, including dishware, linens, and food and beverage items, preparing alcoholic beverages to standards, complying with all sanitation guidelines and maintaining area in accordance with state health standards.
- Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate Sodexo resources when necessary.
- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
- Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
- Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs with standards.
- Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements, and communicates them to employees.
- Ensures certifications are current for facilities.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Unit Specific Duties:
- Assists catering manager with weekly inventory of all catering supplies, alcohol, and equipment.
- Orders catering supplies, linens, nonalcoholic beverages, special miscellaneous products, and small wares.
- Assure catering deliveries are accurate and timely.
- Update catering table needs spreadsheet and attending weekly facilities meetings to ensure various departments on campus are aware of set up requirements.
- Attend and occasionally run BEO meetings with catering chef and others.
- Be able to schedule, train and oversee any hourly or on call catering staff.
- Be ServSafe certified or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.

Minimum Requirements:
- Legal Age : 18 years old
- Education or Equivalent Experience : High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent.
- Supervisor/Managerial Experience : One or more years in an event, hotel, or restaurant environment.
- Function Specific Experience : Three years of previous catering, restaurant, and/or special event experience required.
- Certification Requirements : ServSafe or ability to become ServSafe certified within 90 days of employment, TIPS trained helpful but not required, valid driver's license.

- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

- Generally in an indoor setting; however, may supervise outside activities and events.
- Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends and extended hours as business dictates.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
