Job Description

AECOM is a leader in water resources and climate adaptation services. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civil/Resiliency Project Manager in our Chelmsford, MA or Boston offices. This Project Manager will support our Resiliency and Civil Engineering projects primarily in the Northeast. We are looking for a Project Manager with strong business development, design, and resilience strategy development skills to work with our multidiscipline teams and develop approaches to address issues related to natural disasters, climate change, and stormwater management. This position will focus on delivering projects and solutions for local, state, and federal government and other public sector clients. The selected candidate will collaborate with some of AECOM’s foremost experts in resiliency, modeling, and design and will be given a leadership role to mentor staff engineers and work with technical leaders on large scale planning and design projects.

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Familiarity with applying model results towards civil/stormwater/resiliency planning/design.

+ Writing technical reports and memoranda

+ Site visits, as needed.

+ Mentoring and training junior level staff

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Oversight of civil design and grading for flood control, drainage, bridge, and stormwater management projects.

+ Coordinating with technical disciplines including geotechnical, structural, civil, and environmental among others

+ Face to face interaction with clients

+ Assisting with business development opportunities and general growth of AECOM’s water resources and resiliency services

+ Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Environmental, or Coastal Engineering)

+ 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Professional Engineer in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain PE license within 6 months of hire)

+ 12+ years of relevant water resources related experience.

+ 12+ years' experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling concept and principles.

+ 8+ years' experience with hydrologic and hydraulic models (SWMM, HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SRH2D

+ Experience in New England and Boston-Metro stormwater and coastal resilience projects

+ Strong analytical and computation skills

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client and agency presentations and written report preparation.

+ Knowledge of civil engineering and resiliency design principles

+ Ability to work with a team consisting of several technical disciplines.

+ Experience in developing and reviewing proposals.
