Role description and opportunities
The Senior Communications Strategist for Pershing, based in Pittsburgh, will help develop and deliver on strategic, proactive communications campaigns to support the overall strategy of the Pershing business in support of the larger BNY Mellon firm. They will report into the Head of Business Communications for Pershing in our New York headquarters.
Key responsibilities include the following
Help support and deliver on key, strategic communications opportunities to be disseminated across the enterprise in the form of intranet stories, newsletters and other forms of content
Ideate and develop messaging and content for senior-level executives in the form of employee emails, social media content and videos designed to elevate executive thought leadership presence across the enterprise
Prepare and deliver on communications packets for key business announcements, as well as business management issues
Help prepare messaging documents for Pershing spokespeople in advance of media engagements
Content ideation and development for line of business town halls and other VIP line of business events
Responsible for securing relevant approvals and keeping key stakeholders apprised of progress
Management of deliverables against a master editorial/activation calendar, as directed by the head of business communications
Help with other department needs, as needed
A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications
Demonstrated track record of excellence in executing on a communications strategy for a large, global financial services firm
Financial services (or other regulated environment) content development experience is required
Experienced in working in a highly matrixed, highly regulated environment, with the ability to manage a high volume of stakeholder feedback
Experience in communicating and collaborating with senior-level executives
High-functioning, proactive individual who can prioritize multiple demands and handle challenging situations that may require adapting to changing requirements on a project
Outstanding written and oral communication skills; effective presentation skills
3-5 years of professional experience in corporate communications for a financial services (or other regulated environment) firm
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required
