Under the guidance of Mondelēz International’s legal leader or counsel, you deliver on our legal strategy, activities, and service delivery model in a legal specialist and generalist area of focus. You use your ability to work independently, your in-depth knowledge, and significant experience in a specialty area to apply legal knowledge in the practice area and propose legal solutions and alternatives to in-house counsel.

How you will contribute

Under the guidance of Mondelēz International’s legal leader or counsel, you will deliver on our legal strategy, activities, and service delivery model in a legal specialist and generalist area of focus. In this role, you provide strategic legal support to the legal business unit, region and global stakeholders and work closely with them to ensure legal concepts and implications are understood and related legal and operational risks are assessed. You will operate systems and technologies relevant to the area of support, prepare documents, gather information, and interact with business partners to deliver objectives and provide expertise and experience in a legal specialty area to identify and advise on laws and regulatory changes for a given country and/or across multiple countries.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist Global and North America Procurement organization in the day-to-day commercial negotiations and associated matters that arise in the course of business
  • Assist Counsels in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements
  • Coordinate updates to commercial contract templates in the Contract Lifecycle Management system
  • Coordinate training calendar for Procurement and other relevant functions
  • Lead governance for communicating Global Law’s related initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with the Global Law and IP Teams on supporting regional/global R&D related contracts (e.g. Confidentiality Agreements, Joint Development Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements)
  • Work with Global Law Team to find innovative ways to evolve procedures, ways of working and technologies related to contracting, considering global standards in connection with BU needs

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3+ years of experience with contract negotiation experience preferentially in a multi-national corporate legal department
  • Capable of cooperation with others in a fast-paced team environment. Must have a “no job is too big or too small” can do attitude and a willingness to confront hurdles and problems with the determination to always find a way forward
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and legal document management systems, preferentially with Contract Lifecycle Management tools is
  • Effective communication (verbal, written and listening), interpersonal, persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and priority setting skills, including demonstrating flexibility when work assignments or priorities change
  • Efficiency, accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness in completing an assignment
  • Self-motivated, self-starter
  • Collaborative team player
