About The Fishing School: The Fishing School (TFS), founded in 1990, is an out-of-school time (OST) organization working with youth and their parents from under-served communities in Washington, DC. Through OST programming, TFS provides academic instruction, tutoring, homework assistance, life skills training, recreation, and cultural enrichment. About the Position: TFS seeks a driven, passionate, creative, and skilled development professional. The Senior Development Manager will partner with the Director of Development & Communications to raise the organization’s annual budget of $1.8 million. The Senior Development Manager reports to the Director of Development & Communications, and works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, the senior management, funders, program staff, and other key stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop diversified fundraising strategies to meet defined financial goals
- Lead the proposal and grants management process, including managing deadlines, developing proposals and reports; collaborate with the senior management team on proposal strategies
- Manage the corporate partnership program
- Develop and manage cultivation plans for current and future institutional and individual donors, including scheduling site visits and responding to donor requests for information
- Manage and report on revenue projections, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes, and maintain record keeping best practices
- Research new funding prospects, funding trends, and industry developments
- Develop and manage giving circles targeting various affinity groups of donors
- Manage special events, including logistics and solicitation of corporate sponsorships
- Serve as a power user of Raiser’s Edge; ensure that donor records are up-to-date and secure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
