About the role:
The Senior Director, Product Quality Management leads and manages the global department and is accountable for ensuring requirements adhere to Peloton's Quality requirements, focused on our hardware products. The Senior Director role is responsible for driving departmental strategy, budget, improvement initiatives, and creating an organizational structure capable of achieving Peloton's strategic long term growth plans.This role will partner heavily with engineering, program management, product management, sourcing, and other Quality teams. This role reports directly to the SVP, Quality, Safety & Product Lifecycle
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for Product Quality, including: Testing, Validation, Reliability, Metrology, Failure Analysis, and Product Quality Engineering, mostly related to our Bike, Tread, Row, Guide and Consoles.
- Mentor and lead diverse team mentioned above in multiple locations in the USA and in Taiwan
- Define and drive the strategy for the Product Quality
- Prepare and manage departmental budget for Opex and Capex, assuring proper management of expenses
- Establish vision and organizational framework for comprehensive global product quality coverage to assure the different times are operating following the same processes in different geographies.
- Lead the Quality function during the NPI phases and assure all gates are properly exited.
- Coordinate with Engineering Program Management, Operations Program Management and Product Management the execution of the Product Development Process (PDP) and drive the needed updates
- Establish framework for the team to liaise internally with all other Quality and Safety functions to drive the requirements and execution of the PDP
- Lead the Testing & Validation organization to assure proper planning and execution of the Design Validation & Testing (DV&T) protocols and execution according to the plan, as well as execution of durability and reliability tests.
- Work in sync with our Engineering team to define the best strategy for overall testing and reliability processes and framework
- Drive Sustaining activities across the company to improve the quality of our hardware products
- Lead the development and updates of process, systems, and tools that drive Product Development including Issue Management, Design Quality Analysis, and Product Quality Collaboration.
- Partner with Software Quality and Engineering teams for product improvements
- Ability to implement OKRs and KPIs to drive execution of our products
- Drive improvements in warranty costs and frequency
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 10+ years experience in Product Quality & Development leadership roles
- Experience leading testing & reliability teams
- Required Engineering Degree (Mechanical, EE, Industrial)
- MBA is a plus
- Strong background in Engineering and Technical roles
- Previous experience in leadership roles of teams in multiple locations
- Able to travel 25% of the time, including international to lead meet teams in Taiwan and Seattle
- Multi-site leadership in different products and/or industries
- Demonstrated experience in managing, coaching, and developing a global team
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategy and ensuring budgetary alignment leveraging strong business acumen
- Strong communication skills with ability to align other functional leaders and teams around vision. Confident in presenting to executive leadership.

- Flexible and agile; able to pivot to changing circumstances and business demands
- Thorough knowledge of Quality Management systems and Problem Solving
- Black Belt certification, a plus
Base Salary: $287,000.00 to $373,100.00
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
