In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract in the near future, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Senior EEE Parts Engineer to promote HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.

The Senior EEE Parts Engineer will boost the Dynetics Space Division in the development of a human lander system and promote equipment, and primarily accountable for the development of the program Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) Parts management Plan, and the selection, qualification, testing of EEE Parts. Candidate will work with stakeholders to develop and maintain EEE Part Control Plan, EEE parts database for space application, and EEE part policies. Preparation of technical and progress reports on tasks being performed, specifications development, supplier evaluation, and help in resolving manufacturing issues is also expected.

This position also requires the ability to translate high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and to work with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements. Candidates will work in a team environment to boost design through product implementation and should be able to direct engineering design disposition on all documentation discrepancies.

Candidate might be tasked to travel as necessary (0-10%)

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution. Candidates with master’s and PhD degrees are encouraged to apply, with degree level substitution for direct industry work experience.
  • Candidates must have 8+ years of work history with roles.
  • Candidate will work directly with customers and their technical representatives to define EEE parts requirement and verification statements.
  • Candidate will have Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) parts related work history or field of study to include integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitor
  • Candidate will understand component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military and/or aerospace flight applications
  • Candidate will have Knowledge of component failure modes, component reliability, specification, and standards
  • Candidate has to ensure that unit and system level designs appropriately consider radiation-related effects such as total dose, displacement damage, single event effects, etc.
  • Candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidate will have excellent presentation skills to brief management and NASA during reviews.
  • Candidates will have demonstrated work history effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidates must be residents of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

Preferred candidates may possess a master’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.

Preferred candidates may have work history and/or working knowledge of the following:

  • NASA spaceflight programs or other aerospace development projects

  • Self-motivation with demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Work with other subsystem leads, CEs, and vendor as radiation Point of Contact.

  • Knowledge of the NASA EEE part review process, such as Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Board (PMPCM), Nonstandard Parts Approval Request (NSPAR)

  • Working knowledge evaluating EEE parts for use in aerospace applications.

  • Knowledge reviewing engineering drawings and/or specifications and providing guidance to design, stress, and manufacturing engineering.

  • Knowledge of NASA-STD-8739.10, Electrical, Electronic, and Electromagnetic (EEE) Parts Assurance Standard.

  • Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality

  • Working as part of multi-company and multi-organizational development teams

Security Requirements

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
