If you share our passion, we welcome you to join our tight-knit team as we continue to make a difference. We are proud of our work, we are devoted to our customers, and we are dedicated to our employees.

Leveraging the global portfolio of Rheinmetall’s Vehicle Systems Division, ARV provides advanced tracked and wheeled combat vehicles and tactical wheeled vehicles. ARV offers forward thinking capabilities such open systems architectures to enable the rapid insertion of maturing technologies, platform commonality to reduce production and lifecycle costs, and the transfer of technology to establish local production capabilities. Rheinmetall’s collaborative global structure allows for the maturation and strengthening of the U.S. Industrial Base now and into the future.

Job Summary:

Rheinmetall Lethality Engineers are focused on developing and integrating munitions and subsystems into military vehicles and equipment. Confidence in the safety, performance and functionality of their vehicle allows soldiers and Marines to complete their mission duties and make it home safely. Rheinmetall vehicles will see and shoot farther and more effectively than other fielded vehicles.

Lethality technologies include weapons, ammunition handling, electro-optical and infrared sight systems, and fire control computing. A lethality engineer must use elements of their multi-domain engineering coursework to understand these individual vehicle subsystems and their interactions. Vehicle turret packaging and relationships between subsystems must be understood to provide complementary design solutions.

This Senior Lethality Engineer forces on leading design and build of turret and robotics systems. A significant amount of your initial job will be using your past, hands-on experience in mechanical design and integration with electrical and computing integration to help lead ARV turret, robotics and subsystem development and test.

Lethality engineers will also be ARVs ambassadors to government counterparts and agencies. Subcontractor management will grow to include managing the cost and schedules of their engineering activities and hosting meetings. You will also support integration and test activities for these subsystems as vehicle development progresses.

We are looking for a Senior Lethality Engineer to work for our Sterling Heights, MI office. If you have 10+ years of engineering experience in the defense, aerospace, or automotive industry, and have or will be obtaining a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (mechanical, mechatronics, systems, electrical), we invite you to click the Apply button to learn more and share your qualifications with us.
