Duties and Responsibilities

JOB TITLE: Facilities Engineer - Team Lead

REPORTS TO: Director of Engineering

1. POSITION SUMMARY

The project engineer’s primary responsibility is to lead engineering, design, and project services efforts with clients. This will include supervision of feasibility studies, design generation, review, and supporting clients’ project execution plans. The engineer will take the lead on projects, participate in design reviews with customers, and lead site walk-downs in the field. The engineer will evaluate new technologies, determine SIGIT design standards based on industry code, participate in quality audits, and mentor intermediate and junior engineers

This resource will also serve as a client-facing representative of the Employer, requiring the resource to communicate with clients as needed and support the installed base of SIGIT’s clients. The resource, from time to time, may be required to travel to customer sites, events, or training related to business activities for the Employer.

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the entire project cycle to include development, design, and project completion

· Develop and execute project services offerings for clients such as procurement, expediting, and project development

· Lead a team of multiple engineering, design, and project services disciplines to complete customer deliverables

· Work with, guide, and support junior and intermediate engineers

· Support of SIGIT projects in North America, requiring visits away from home to support and start up SIGIT projects

· Conduct site surveys to gather field data

· Interface with customer corporate and operations personnel to ensure SIGIT is meeting client requirements

· Understand and practice SIGIT’s safety standards while performing business-related services

· Participate in companywide or team meetings

· Meet technical team department productivity and quality goals

· Communicate with supervisors and managers

· Perform to SIGIT to engineering standards, policies, or details

· Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule

3. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:

· Experienced in oil & gas related piping codes (ASME B31)

· Proficient in P&IDs and Material Mass Balance diagrams and drawings

· Experienced in packaged equipment scoping, sourcing, and review

· Working Knowledge in AutoCAD, CADWorx, and NavisWorks

· Experienced in Piping Design & Specification

· Experienced in Pipe Sizing Calculations

· Proficient in inline Instrumentation Sizing Calculations (PSVs, Meters, Valves, etc)

· Working Knowledge of oil & gas project constructability & logistics requirements

· Working Knowledge in Project Management Plans, Stages, and Processes.

· Proficient in Word &Excel

4. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum level of 10 years experience in engineering

· Minimum level of 10 years of experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas

· A successful candidate will have various experiences working at or with EPCMs, producers, and midstream companies

· Strong technical/computer background

· Managing and developing engineering resources

· Successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments

5. EDUCATION / DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS

· Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

· Active Professional Engineer License

· A valid driver’s license

· A passport and eligible travel to Canada

6. LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills and conducts meetings.

· Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.

7. REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions.

The performance of this position may require travel in North America & job sites where under certain areas require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment).
