Fracht USA is seeking a Senior Import Specialist to join our growing team. The Senior Import Specialist serves as the first point of contact between Fracht and its customers; they are responsible for communication and arranging of air transportation to meet customer needs. The Senior Import Specialist ensures customer satisfaction, works efficiently, professionally, and maximize profits by minimizing potential for error and upselling other services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process data/documents for import shipments both air and ocean
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers to provide timely and exemplary service to our clients and partners
- Handle and maintain accuracy of all related documents, monitor status of shipments, and keep our clients informed
- Proactively handle any challenges that arises on the day-to-day operations, promoting positive results
- Provide rate quotes as requested by our clients and partners
- Obtain and negotiate competitive rates from vendors to increase profit
- Ability to be profit and cost conscious at all times
- Handling shipments from A-Z
- Adhere to all company policies and guidelines such as attendance requirements and code of conduct.
- Support other duties and projects as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in Import Operations
- Experience with Cargowise is a huge plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with fellow team, clients, and partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, a self-starter, fast learner, and ability to multi-task
- Ability to learn and keep up to date with new developments, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work efficiently in an environment with multiple shifting priorities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and projects with demanding deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office programs

- Ability to effectively listen and communicate clearly with team members, customers and vendors. Ability to interpret and disseminate information promptly.
- Ability to coordinate multi-modal transportation needs with external service providers. Immediate follow-up of discrepancies. Follow all company policies, procedures, local, state, federal and international regulations. Be informed of changes in regulations, ask questions and when in doubt request clarification or training as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
