The qualified Senior Investment Officer is responsible for the management and direction of designated asset management strategies. The position will act as a go-to investment expert for advice, content, and market commentary for internal and external audiences. Portfolio construction, trading, analysis, and performance reporting are major components to the position.


Responsibilities


1. Serves as the primary internal and external client facing position that manages designated investment strategies within the Wealth Management Group.

  • Understands and communicates the current positioning of all firm strategies, recent changes in key holdings or sectors, market commentary and investment results relative to benchmarks for internal and external audiences.
  • Assists internal bank staff with sales efforts, investment advice, and content for client/prospect meetings and communications.
  • Assists in monitoring of portfolios, investments, and models via research tools or fund manager calls.

2. Reviews existing portfolios and assembles new investment portfolios.

  • Evaluates, monitors, and makes recommendations for asset allocation decisions for designated investment strategies. Participates in the Investment Review Committee.
  • Analyzes and advises on opportunities for beneficial purchase and sale of securities to maintain and enhance holdings.
  • Reviews existing portfolios for compliance with departmental investment policies.
  • Performs trading activities and performance reviews of portfolios.

3. Supervises, leads & coaches assigned Wealth Management employees.

  • Develops quarterly quantitative goals and actions plans for each employee.
  • Meets individually with each direct report to review goals and action items.
  • Provides feedback to staff in a timely and consistent manner regarding performance.
  • Offers challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Ensures training and guidance to employees on all policy/procedures.
  • Manages staffing levels, including selection/hiring and training of new employees.

4. Training and Education – Completes all assigned training as established in a timely manner, including compliance, certification & licensure, and other developmental requirements.

5. Customer Service - Exemplifies C&N Customer Service Standards.

Qualifications


Education:
MBA or master’s degree in related field.

and

Experience: 8-10 years of previous related experience and/or training

OR: Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Certifications: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CFA candidate, CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) or CIMA® candidate.

Certifications required within 2 years of employment.
