Senior Linux Systems Administrator
Job description
CouponCabin is currently seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join a creative, high-energy and fast paced tech team. The team is growing but has managed to cling to its small, startup roots. We solve scalability problems, deal with large data sets and adopt best-of-breed technologies quickly. Communication and collaboration are essential.
Core Responsibilities:
- Supports users, hardware, software, and connectivity for our office, 5 datacenters, 100 servers and about 65 users as part of a collaborative Sysadmin team
- Participates in DevOps initiatives
- Assists with design and maintenance of our Backup/Recovery operations
- Be prepared to learn new technologies and techniques and pass that knowledge along
Minimum Requirements:
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work alone or in pairs
- Automation experience
- Experience with Nginx/Python hosting
- Knows Linux inside and out, specifically CentOS
- Ability to bench press a 2U server
- Ability to use bash, sed, grep, regex in a readable, useful and yet still awe-inspiring way
- Understand the alphabet soup that is modern networking: SSL/TLS, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, etc.
We would love if you also had (not required):
- Experience using automation tools such as Salt Stack and Ansible
- Familiarity with AWS
- DBA experience of some sort, PostgreSQL is a plus
- OS X Desktop and/or Server experience
- Splunk familiarity
- Manage and build Xen and KVM virtualization hosts
