We have an immediate leadership opportunity for a Senior Manager – Industrial Engineering at our Dallas facility. You will integrate ISE fundamentals and organizational leadership with emerging advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies - such as digital and smart manufacturing - to drive business execution in our factories while modernizing the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a change leader, preferably with aerospace or industrial goods manufacturing and lean background, able to develop across the enterprise.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
- Provides leadership in all aspects of industrial engineering and plays a key role in strategic transformation initiatives; drives, coaches and influences lean deployment and productively improvements; regularly interfaces with factories and product lines across RI&S.
- Manages and mentors a small team of Industrial Systems Engineers.
- Manages site budgets, supports program proposal and existing production systems; develops recommendations for process improvements (including automation and Industry 4.0 solutions) and leads implementation of the solutions.
- Coordinates and mentors Lean kaizen events with cross-functional teams; manages manufacturing simulation models; supports capacity-planning models for various volume fluctuation scenarios.
- Manages high visibility projects and provides cost/benefit analysis with trade-off studies for methods and productivity improvements; engages factory management to align ISE work to customer’s business goals. *** This is an on-site position located at our North Dallas facility***
Required Skills & Experience:
- Requires minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, operations management or industrial engineering demonstrating strong business acumen to manage budgets, cost impact reporting, and managing / motivating effective small to mid-sized engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional continuous improvement team projects.
- Requires strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare and present a concise and comprehensive business case and project summaries to all levels of the organization - from executives to manufacturing floor personnel.
- Strong understanding of Lean principles and implementation of Lean strategies.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Transition to production, Manufacturing Readiness Assessments and/or experience in a manufacturing environment; experience deploying automation systems in a manufacturing environment
Focus on system optimization and transformation through continuous improvement cycles
Proficient in Process Simulations and capacity analysis; experience with 3D modeling software
Demonstrated knowledge in Automation/Industry 4.0: Smart Manufacturing
Lean Facilitator experience with Value Stream Mapping and leading Kaizen events
Project and change management skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of MTM / MOST labor standard methodologies software and/or certified
Self-motivated change agent, has a bias for action and a sense of urgency, demonstrates accountability by holding self and others accountable to the team charter
Experience with digital manufacturing tools and techniques (Delmia, Process Simulate, NX or equivalent)
Knowledge of DoD acquisition phases
Earned Value Certification; Six Sigma Green Belt Certification equivalent or higher
Required Education: Typically requires a University Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. An Advanced Degree is preferred but not required.
