The Logistics Operations Senior Manager will be accountable for leading strategic activities related to AOC’s Logistics Network and Carrier Performance including collaboration with key leadership in Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the budget for Transportation and Warehousing cost including managing performance to budget and on-going forecasting. Additionally, the Senior Operations Manager will be responsible for driving critical performance metrics with Logistics Service Providers including upholding AOC’s standards for on-time service delivery performance of 99% for customer deliveries.

This position will be leading AOC’s efforts to implement both a new Freight Audit & Pay solution as well as introduce an inbound/outbound Transportation Management System (TMS) which may include an outsource Managed Transportation partnership. The successful candidate will be a key thought partner and strategic leader in our strategic direction to continue our transformation for the management of our entire Logistics network and the holistic management of our operations and infrastructure.

The position is responsible for managing and driving continuous improvement for Logistics network performance with focus on driving improved safety, service, savings, and sustainability outcomes for AOC.

Responsibilities:

• Lead North America Logistics Operations Strategy
• Lead the deployment and on-going management of AOC’s freight audit and pay solution
• Primary business owner and deployment leader for Inbound/Outbound TMS and Managed Transportation Solution
• Partner with cross-functional team to develop and maintain annual Logistics budget and forecasting process for improved cost controls
• Implement and sustain formal Carrier Performance Management program including Key Performance Metrics and Quarterly Business Reviews with Top Carriers/Logistics Service Providers
• Document and define clear business process and procedures for key recurring Logistics Operations business processes and controls
• Seek out cost reduction opportunities through enhanced cost controls, operational optimization, cost avoidance, and the pursuit of total cost of ownership savings
• Effectively communicates strategies, results, and metrics to leadership teams as required.
• Stays abreast of industry/market trends for transportation and logistics.
• Develop and implement distribution models that eliminates production delays and minimizes required inventory.
• Work closely with IT, Accounting, Procurement, and Operations to develop and implement information technologies that enhance overall business data analytics
• Develop new and maintain current carrier partnership relationships
• Monitor and manage carrier activity to ensure consistency with carrier's contractual commitments and take corrective action to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain carrier profile, contract documentation, and rate systems

• BA/BS in Supply Chain Management / Business / Engineering or related field
• MBA preferred
• Minimum 15-20 years of Logistics Operations or related experience
