Summary:
Our Information Services (IS) group is seeking an experienced, adaptable, and driven IT professional to lead the management of our Quality & Regulatory Compliance and R&D systems. The candidate will be a strategic partner with our business stakeholders and will be involved in delivering solutions to complex problems that arise during the planning, execution, and support of different IT programs and projects.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Successful delivery of Quality/R&D solutions as IS subject matter expert
- Deliver capabilities within Digital Quality Roadmap, including integration with core, R&D & supply chain processes as well as Hershey’s Integrated Data Platform
- Understand requirements and implement system solutions to enable and support complex business processes.
- Partner collaboratively with business strategists, process owners, subject matter experts, external solution implementors, and IS PMO (Project Management Office).
- Analyze business needs, define/document detailed requirements & business processes, and validate potential solutions with the business, following IS standards and methodologies.
- Facilitate solutions, define deliverables, and conduct structured design reviews with technical development and Enterprise Data teams to ensure consistent, well-integrated solutions.
- Ensure business objectives and conditions of satisfaction (metrics) are met.
- Lead internal and external, cross-functional IS stakeholders through all stages of the software development life cycle – including transition to support.
- Coordinate with architecture and technical teams to manage application lifecycle.
- Execute required analysis, development & execution of test scripts, change management process and evaluation of solution capabilities against business needs
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners
- Work with business leaders to define options, risks, issues, costs, benefits, and impacts on products, processes, and strategy.
- Engage with external partners to leverage their expertise and resources to maintain and advance systems and technologies.
- Contribute to the development of technical or business process expertise across the organization by sharing information with teammates and business partners.
Develop strategic roadmap in partnership with Product Owners
- Partner with the Quality and R&D organizations to jointly determine strategic direction, roadmap for technology, and tactical implementation of capabilities
- Assist in the development of the strategic technology roadmap, justification and prioritization of technology initiatives, and identification of innovation opportunities.
- Collaboration with Digital Factory and Supply Chain teams on the delivery of the Digital Quality roadmap
- Anticipate and recommend solutions to business problems. Accountable for maintainability, reliability, and availability of system solutions relative to business expectations
- Document system architecture plans and describe how the architecture aligns with business strategy.
- Represent business requirements and priorities to IS while also representing the IS platform and programs to the business.
- Research and evaluate best practices and emerging technology, industry, and market trends to drive optimization of delivered solutions.
- Engage in product, technology, and vendor evaluations and benchmarking activities.
- Participate actively in industry user groups.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree with STEM focus (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) or Supply Chain
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in application analysis, development, configuration, implementation, and support of Quality and/or Supply Chain systems
- 5+ years’ experience managing high visibility projects
- 5+ years of functional experience with design, configuration, implementation, and support of Quality and/or R&D systems and integration with both SAP and non-SAP solutions
- Experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry preferred
- Experience with Food Safety/Food Quality processes preferred
- Experience with data analytics & visualization technologies is a plus (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience with SAP S/4 is preferred
- Experience with global technology implementations
- Strong knowledge of R&D (Innovation, Product & Portfolio Management) and Supply Chain processes (i.e., Source, Make, Deliver and Enable)
- Knowledge of Quality Capabilities at both the corporate and plant levels (e.g., Lab Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Supplier Quality as well as Incident Management & Containments, Sanitation Scheduling, and Audit Support)
- Knowledge of integration of SAP to non-SAP systems and integration between non-SAP systems
- Functional understanding of standard interfaces built upon XML, API, SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and IDOC transactions
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
