Seeking an Senior Mechanical Estimator with industrial pipe estimating experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Spartanburg, SC.

Salary is starting at 100,000 per year (based on experience)

The Senior Mechanical Estimator will lead efforts on mechanical estimates on pipe and equipment in order to acquire new projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects.
• Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.
• Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.
• Develop execution plans and assist in project write-ups for submission to clients.
• Track awarded contracts as required – may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.

Qualifications:

• 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• 5+ years of estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience in similar construction.
• Experience leading mechanical estimates with heavy civil and electrical requirements.
• Extensive pipe estimating experience.
• Experience in industrial construction (gas treatment, water treatment, power, hydro, and heavy industrial).
• Experience with Primavera.
• Experience with Microsoft Office with a high proficiency in Excel.
• Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, and standards, estimating techniques, engineering, and cost control.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a valid, non-restrictive driver’s license.
