Senior & Nutrition Services Manager
Job description
Responsible for the development, coordination, and planning of managing multiple food service locations in the seven counties of the Arrowhead Region that includes improving opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, and work efficiency. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition, food service management or related field or a combination of education and experience. A current ServSafe certificate. Experience in quantity food service management, planning, and supervision. Computer literate in Microsoft Office/Windows and other applicable systems.
Needed Attributes: Self-starter with strong communication, organizational, management, instructional and supervisory skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to work with diverse groups of people from a variety of backgrounds.
- Responsible for the overall management of nutritionally adequate and safe food operations
- Provide effective leadership to multiple food service on-site locations and caterers
- Responsible for food service staff utilization, selection, training, evaluation, and disciplinary processes
- Develop specifications and solicit for purchase of food, equipment, and supplies
- Manage the daily food service operation, including food production, labor scheduling and coordination, and facility/equipment management. Conducts time studies and prepares work schedules
- Maintain strong financial controls for the various parameters of the food service including food cost, nonfood costs, and labor expenses
- Assist and analyze annual budget and review the monthly operating food expenses and food inventory
- Develop cycle menus and standardized recipes for all types of menu items that meet the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Dietary Reference Intakes
- Ensure the food service locations complies with proper procedures including the use of standardized recipes, portion control, quality control, sanitation, and safety standards
- Prepare and conduct training on topics such as customer service, employee safety, and sanitation
- Conducts annual caterer negotiations to update food service agreements
- Ensures compliance with federal/state/local rules and regulations
- Assists in reporting and evaluation requirements
- Represents the Agency at various meetings concerning Senior Nutrition issues
