Title: Sr Project Manager

Duration: 12 months+

Location: NY/New York (Onsite)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technology project management and documentation to support technology projects with multiple moving parts and a large group of stakeholders
  • Manages Medium to Large sized projects independently, following all requirements of the project life cycle and methodology
  • Provides support to Portfolio/Program managers for larger projects and programs, ensuring project goals are met.
  • With oversight from Portfolio/Program Manager, provides articulate and accurate reporting to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Independently manage project teams and stakeholders with minimal oversight from Portfolio/Program Managers.
  • Establish project governance and communication with stakeholders
  • Ensure timetable and deliverable schedules are understood and communicated
  • Manage dependencies proactively, coordinate across teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • Contribute to executive level updates on strategy, budget, project delivery, controls, risks, etc.
  • Organize required reporting for business and technology management review sessions
  • Track financials/budget forecasts related to technology expenditures including software, hardware, and resource allocation
  • Drives project completion successfully by achieving all milestones within each project, and meeting business requirements within the approved budget and timeline.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely in both oral and written contexts, and comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
  • Creates and maintains the Project Work Breakdown Structure
  • Assumes accountability for going beyond bounds of own job or project to address issues and opportunities
  • Manages time, resources and workload efficiently and effectively
  • Reliability and quality of data, deliverables and reports is high

Pre-Defined Deliverables

-Process Flows

-Mentor and Knowledge transfer to client project team members

-Participate as primary, co and/or contributing author on any and all project deliverables associated with their assigned areas of responsibility

-Participate in data conversion and data maintenance

-Provide best practice and industry specific solutions

-Advise on and provide alternative (out of the box) solutions

-Provide thought leadership as well as hands on technical configuration/development as needed.

-Participate as a team member of the functional team

-Perform other duties as assigned.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Ability to coordinate and manage small but diverse project teams
  • Ability to build mutually beneficial and respectful business relationships with all parties
  • Ability to produce quality project documentation including status reports and executive presentations (e.g., produces complete, accurate, and consistent deliverables)
  • Detail Oriented - Ensures own work product and those of others is accurate and thorough
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, experience with MS Project or equivalent an advantage.
  • Innate ability to understand process, think outside the box and work well with others.
  • Solid understanding and planning skills in all aspects of the system's/business project life-cycle, i.e., enhancements, user requirements, application configuration and usage using MS Project as the project planning tool.
  • Analytical capability to identify issues and risks and troubleshoot problems
  • Understanding of PLC/tools/templates/processes
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex issues concisely
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and experienced with reporting to senior management
  • Good consensus builder; ability to drive large scale initiatives
  • Ability to work across organizations and through obstacles

Education:

• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree required

• Progress towards completion of PMP or other PM certification (preferred)

Salary: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
