Founded in 2021 by philanthropist Alice Walton, the School of Medicine will offer a four-year medical doctorate degree program that integrates conventional medicine with whole-person principles and self-care practices. The School of Medicine will welcome its inaugural class in 2025, pending programmatic and institutional accreditation.
The Alice L Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) filed its request for applicant status with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education in Summer 2022. Currently in the design development phase, construction of the 154,000 square-foot building will begin in Spring 2023. About The Position
The Senior Recruiter for the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine will be responsible for managing the full cycle recruiting and selection process. This role reports directly to the HR Director and works closely with the Talent Acquisition Director at Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE). The Senior Recruiter will be responsible for: managing requisitions; sourcing candidates; maintaining postings on job boards; partnering with faculty, leaders and HR partners; extending offers; and conducting background screens.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions Specific to the Position:
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment support, from developing job postings and search strategies based on strategic needs, reviewing applicants, screening and evaluating candidates, to supporting the final selection process.
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Plan and execute the interview process by communicating expectations, feedback, and status information to candidates, hiring managers, cross-functional partners, and other stakeholders throughout the process.
- Track recruiting activities and provide candidate status and recruiting pipeline in a Weekly/Monthly report. Responsible for the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recruiting reports.
- Provide follow-up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status. Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
- Drive process improvements to ensure an effective hiring process for the candidate and hiring team.
- Conduct background checks and professional reference checks on selected candidates.
- Execute sourcing searches including cold calling, networking, identifying applicant associations/pools/professional groups and affiliations, websites, Boolean searches, targeted companies/individuals, use of analytics tools, etc.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies.
- Assist with other recruiting and talent management related projects as needed.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
Minimum Work Experiences and Qualifications
- 3+ years of recruiting experience supporting one or more innovative, fast-moving offices. Medical school or health care recruiting experience required.
- Proven strategic experience in full lifecycle recruiting or talent acquisition.
- Strong sourcing skills including sourcing of passive talent.
- In-depth experience using and training others to effectively use recruiting systems (ATS) and tools (for example: job boards, social media).
- Experience designing and generating reports in human resource information systems (for example: Workday) and applicant tracking systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office systems.
- Self-starter with exemplary customer service skills to complement proven multitasking abilities. Ability to provide effective support to all levels of the organization with complete discretion.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced, growing, changing technical environment.
