Senior Staff Accountant

Pinnacle MEP is a private equity firm based in central Michigan seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform accounting duties and to provide support to our HVAC/Plumbing operating companies while meeting established deadlines. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of GAAP and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Senior Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

This is primarily a remote position with occasional travel to operating companies.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in compliance with GAAP.
  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation.
  • Processing of AP transactions.
  • Financial analysis and reports.
  • Preparation of revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring of budgets.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and support of operating companies as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required and understanding of GAAP accounting required.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Construction industry or similar substantive Work in Progress accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Sage Intacct experience a plus.
  • M&A experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and changing environment.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
