CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The Integrated Supply Planning group is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Planner to join our Server and Network Planning team focused on supply/demand supportability along with system and process transformation. This role is responsible for aligning and maintaining short-term and long-term demand plans to support our rapid scaling Network infrastructure. The person in this role will facilitate system transformation to align network with server demand planning processes and tools. The right candidate will drive clarity and decisions across the team on network sourcing signals by integrating with the various demand and supply planning organizations, as well as with the engineering groups and business groups. In addition, the role will assist in process and systems optimization for the network planning process.

Responsibilities

This role and the team are part of a critical function that will be the single point of contact for server and network sourcing and capacity planning teams. Your responsibilities will include the following:
  • Developing systematic processes for creating, maintaining, tracking and reporting on Network & Server rack supportability.
  • Driving key decisions required for alignment on network demand/supply Plan of Record (POR) planning.
  • Drive development of tools and systems requirements for network planning/tracking
  • Serving as the interface between network sourcing teams and demand / supply planning teams
  • Reviewing all Purchase Order's (PO) placed by Microsoft System Integrators and ensure compliance and supportability against our inventory positioning.
  • Managing metrics including days of supply, Excess & Obsolete (E&O), shortages within lead time and inventory exposure at each supplier to improve performance.
  • Working with Supply Chain, and Capacity Planning teams on the timing and availability of product transitions in order to plan for platform end of life (minimizing E&O inventory) and ramp of new platforms
  • Defining inventory buffer targets (in conjunction with Component Planning) and strategies based on historical usage and forecast and define financial risk/liability associated with said buffers.
  • Performing scenario analysis to understand impact of component shortages, demand upside/downside, etc. to Supply Plan of Record
  • Partnering with systems engineering teams to develop a supply planning automation roadmap to support increasing scale and complexity

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 1+ year(s) supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
  • Deep knowledge of network and Data Center technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft’s regional network and datacenter architectures
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning/Enterprise Resource Planning systems and Supply Chain Master Data management and governance
  • Demonstrated experience in data driven decision making and process optimization
  • Proven track record in delivering change, process improvement, and lean manufacturing solutions Personal Attributes:
  • Possess business acumen, able to think and plan strategically.
  • Able to summarize complex concepts to engage with broader audiences.
  • Proficient critical thinking and ability to drive resolution in ambiguous situations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-pace, high-growth environment
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
