Job Responsibilities
- Review existing and potential telemedicine solutions for interoperability.
- Develop cross-functional relationships with BioMed and IT to facilitate implementation and maintenance.
- Ensure network and equipment design is consistent with Inova standards when applicable.
- Evaluates and documents new telemedicine systems ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Documents policies, procedures, standards & methodologies required for the proper use, maintenance & support of audiovisual systems as evidenced in the regular management reviews of on-line & hard copy documentation.
- Communicates & follow up in a positive & meaning manner with customers on (1) the status on problems & projects (2) current task & project priorities that may conflict with their service requests & (3) alternatives to request for service that do not meet standards; all evidenced by positive oral & written feedback from customers as well as positive service excellence survey results.
- Leads and/or participates as an active , contributing member in regular telemedicine staff meetings & other assigned team/project meetings as evidenced in by agendas, minutes, status reports & project outcomes.
- Communications, via oral & written media, the status on problem resolutions & project implementations to the Customer Support Line ( CSL) , other IT staff, IT management and users as evidenced by CSL information.
- Frequent communications with the CSL is most critical during planned as well as unplanned downtimes.
- Communicates problems & resolution statuses to vendor in a timely & professional manner as evidenced by positive & successful client/vendor relationship & results.
- Works independently to implement tasks and priorities as directed by supervisor.
- Uses sound judgement to get complex tasks completed from start top finish with minimal supervision, but with appropriate escalation when required.
- Provides status to appropriate supervisors on progress and issues as tasks and projects are implemented.
- Maintain viability of enterprise videoconferencing solution.
- Test and troubleshoot all telemedicine equipment not in BioMed or IT control. Install all new telemedicine equipment and software.
- Review and manage current telemedicine infrastructure ensuring SLAs with telemedicine clients.
- Supports equipment to manage the ITI, including installing, maintaining and testing. Manage inventory including service tickets, RMAs, and testing.
Additional Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in field is required
Experience
Progressively responsible assignments in telecommunications systems and applications. Recent technical experience in implementing, modifying, supporting telecommunications systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and train less experienced professionals. Project Management experience. Project experience from design through implementation.
Skills
Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and software tools for performance monitoring and troubleshooting. Basic knowledge in: VoIP, QoS, SIP, video conferencing, video streaming.
