Job Summary
The Senior Test Engineer is the conscience of the development team and an evangelizer of the test mindset. This white hat hacker of code drops ensures that teams focus on what is most important and creates workflows and solutions that deliver on the needs of customers and users by limiting rework from all quality issues. The ideal candidate is pro-active at finding solutions to problems, takes ownership and has a strong inner locus of control. This person has a broad base of knowledge in testing, debugging, troubleshooting, automation and generally fixes everything around them. They will be comfortable reviewing code pull requests and contributing to the user requirements and stories. This person may frequently be heard saying, “If it ain’t broke, give me a minute” or “There has got to be a better way to do this… hold my beverage.”
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts for our software products.
- Ensure that all automated tests are executed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Identify and report software defects in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborate with software development teams to identify and resolve software issues.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases and test reports.
- Stay current with industry best practices in software testing and automation.
- Participate in product definition, specification and requirements analysis working with cross functional stakeholders.
- Collaboration on software architecture and development strategy.
- Capture failure modes and detailed diagnostics for engineering to reproduce issues found during manual and automated testing.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in software testing and automation
- Strong experience with test automation tools, such as Selenium, Appium or similar
- Strong experience with Postman, swagger and OpenAPI.
- Experience with at least one scripting language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and testing practices
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
