Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated software; designing and implementing changes to MathWorks profile management web applications; working with business areas to develop and document requirements and functional specifications; collaborating with usability and graphic designers to develop page flows and designs; creating technical specifications and architecting documentation and facilitating reviews with MathWorks Architecture and Integration teams; working with internal teams to resolve data and integration issues; participating in production support, resolving issues while striving for continuous improvement; identifying and developing performance improvements; monitoring application logs, documenting issues and facilitating resolution process; working with Quality teams to develop test plans and build automated testing tools; and working with infrastructure team to insure MathWorks applications meet performance and availability service level agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience in Java web development.

OR

Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise developing web applications using Spring framework and writing front-end logic using JavaScript and jQuery.
• Demonstrated expertise writing backend logic by writing database scripts and stored procedures using PL/SQL.
• Demonstrated expertise implementing webservices and writing webservice clients using SOAP.
