Synergy Flavors has an opening for an entrepreneurial Sensory Manager Located in the winter wonderland known as the greater Chicago area, our client Synergy Flavors, has an opening for an entrepreneurial Sensory Manager.

This holiday season, Synergy is looking for a Head Elf to grow and lead the Sensory Team. Located in a winter wonderland known as the greater Chicago area, a day in your role will include creating and implementing procedures to improve company efficiency, providing your amazing expertise in flavor, and training/mentoring a team of junior elves, we mean direct reports.

What you will own

• Creating and implementing processes and procedures based on factors such as suppliers, customer feedback, team collaboration, etc.
• Developing and reporting on key metrics and KPIs
• Utilizing best practice methodologies to yield results and reach key metrics
• Establishing and managing budgets
• Managing direct reports and cross-functional teams/projects
• Mentoring and coaching direct reports
• Providing open, honest, and appropriate feedback and career development discussions with direct reports
• Interacting with customers in an engaging manner, when needed

• Adept in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Words, etc.)

Negotiables

• Sensory science degree or certification
• MS/PHD
• Prior management experience
• Prior sensory panel experience

Non-negotiables

• BS in Food Science or other Applied Science
• 5+ years of sensory experience in a Research and Development (R&D) atmosphere
• Experience taking a product from inception through development to completion
• Travel (10%)
