SIGN ON BONUS $1,000**

The Wait Staff Person is responsible for providing residents, guests and staff who take meals in the dining room with prompt, efficient and courteous service. She/he sets tables in an attractive manner prior to customers arriving for meals, serves food (including beverages) in a professional manner, and clears tables and cleans dining areas in a timely manner. She/he provides information to customers regarding food and meal services. She/he receives and responds to comments from customers relating to Food Service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skill

  • Must have an excellent customer service orientation, and pleasant and cheerful disposition. Must be reliable, and have good accuracy & attention to detail regarding menu items and ordering.
  • Prefer one or more years of experience working in a Food Service setting or dealing directly with customers.
  • Demonstrates patience, a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly and disabled persons, flexibility, a positive outlook, the ability to focus on the strengths of other people, and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Ability to tolerate and diffuse angry or aggressive behavior of customers, some of whom may suffer from short-term memory loss.
  • Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets.
  • Basic knowledge of sanitary practices and Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HAACP) guidelines.
  • Ability to read and write menu items in English.
  • Holds current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
