Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The Shop Lead Person is directly responsible for scheduling and coordinating the repair and maintenance of customers’ machines in the shop. This will include receiving customer calls, coordinate scheduling and accomplishment of all shop repairs.

Receives calls from customers for service repairs. Secures customer authorization and applicable information as required.

Opens service work orders.

Responsible for all shop operations and tracking of all work orders.

Checks all work orders for accuracy, approves and forwards to appropriate office personnel (Service Manager, Service Administrator).

Records and maintains work log.

Enforces all safety policies/issues.

Follow-ups on service work orders, calls customers.

Ensures all employees know their job assignments by starting time.

Provides necessary technical advice to technicians to maximize repair integrity and minimize service warranty.

Participates in service meeting at the branch.

Reviews each employee annually with Service Manager to review his/her progress and job classification.

Makes recommendations annually to Service Manager for pay increases.

Ensures customer is kept up-to-date on the status of his/her work, including revised estimates.

Ensures the appearance and the condition of field service equipment, tooling, trucks, etc. is such that the company image is not impaired.

Maintains, tracks, and records truck, tools, service manual and safety item inventories.

Basic PC Skills required.

Basic math skills required

Mechanical or construction trade experience

Must be very flexible with their daily schedule; accepting interruptions and repeated schedule changes. Must be capable of organizing work matched to skill level (experience) of personnel, locations of equipment, and needs of the customer.

High school degree or related equivalent required.
