Job Description

Design and develop software solutions to automate discovery and lifecycle management for assets (cloud, digital, non-cloud), using ServiceNow IT Asset Management and integration with other systems.

• Understand customer needs and business/functional requirements and how technical solutions address them.
• Implement, and assist in design for, custom backend solutions to integrate with external systems and data sources, to automate discovery of assets and ingest asset data into MySQL database, especially cloud assets and software assets.
• Implement, and assist in design for, ServiceNow platform solutions to ingest asset data from MySQL database into ServiceNow CMDB, using ServiceNow transform maps or similar patterns.
• Implement, and assist in design for, ServiceNow platform solutions to create and manage custom applications, business rules, workflows, configurations, and scripts, to automate the full lifecycle of assets, especially on-premise hardware assets.
• Evaluate functionality, reliability, and performance for these systems. Isolate and debug software problems. Recommend solutions to fix and enhance them.
• Proactively identify issues, and resolve or escalate them as appropriate.
• Assist development team efforts through discussion and doing code reviews to encourage best practices. Be a positive influence on the team, share subject matter knowledge, and uphold client's mission and values.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5 years of experience in software development
• 4 years of experience in backend, integrating with external systems, relational databases, and/or ServiceNow custom development
• Some experience in designing, or assisting in designing, software solutions according to requirements
• CMDB
• ServiceNow Discovery

Preferred Qualifications:

Meet or exceed all minimum qualifications, and

• 4 years experience with Python or similar
• 4 years experience with MySQL or similar
• 4 years experience with ServiceNow application development
• 4 years experience with ServiceNow workflow development
• 4 years experience with ServiceNow custom scripting (Javascript)
• ITIL Certification
