Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) is the tank farm operating contractor at the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. This exciting opportunity is for a Back-Up Shift Technical Engineer in our Ops Support and Shift Technical Engineering organization.
This position will work the standard 4x10 schedule Monday-Thursday with the potential of working a shift schedule as needed. Shift Technical Engineering serves as the Engineering point of contact on a rotating shift (12-hour "DuPont" shift schedule) for all WRPS activities performed outside of the standard Monday-Thursday work shift.
The Shift Technical Engineer provides technical support to the Central Shift Manager (CSM) with the Documented Safety Analysis (DSA), Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), Limiting Conditions for Operation (LCO), Unresolved Safety Questions (USQ), Operability Determinations, Environmental Specification Requirements, and other engineering/technical issues as requested to support continued Operations.
Monitor operations and maintenance activities and identify or recommend necessary corrective actions to prevent problems that could affect nuclear safety, DSA, Environmental Compliance, and potential work stoppages.
Provide on-shift engineering "tip of the spear" support for emerging issues by performing, as a minimum, an initial engineering analysis and reporting the results to the appropriate authorities.
Required Qualifications
Grade 16:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering; and
Two (2) years related experience
Grade 15:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering; and
Five (5) year of related experience
Desired Qualifications
Experience at a nuclear facility (commercial, DOD, or DOE) is preferred.
Previous experience working with the facility safety basis (DSA, TSR).
Experience with facility operations and maintenance of nuclear systems, including work package development and planning, and experience working with operations and bargaining unit employees.

Grade 16:
Hiring Range Minimum: $83,950
Hiring Range Maximum: $105,750
Grade 17:
Hiring Range Minimum: $92,238
Hiring Range Maximum: $116,213
