Overview:

This high performing team assists engineering, design, logistics, shipbuilder and Planning Yard in implementing FBW requirements during all phases of system development, production, installation and test. Team members perform reviews and assessments of products and processes for compliance. The group also works with stakeholder departments to ensure that compliant processes are in place to support new system development, and fabrication and construction of the production FBW SCS shipsets. Additional responsibilities include:
- Training Quality Assurance Auditors in conducting FBW Audits and Assessments.
- Taking a lead role in supporting/coordinating NAVSEA, SUPSHIP and internal Fly-By-Wire audits.
- Reporting independently to the Quality Department FBW representative.
- Maintaining SFCC test beds and developing the SFCC certification test procedures.
- Providing FBW engineering support for certification of the Ship Control System for Unrestricted Use for Unrestricted Operations
- Providing FBW engineering support for certification of the Ship Control System design
- Provide engineering support for implementation planning of Ship Control System Upgrades in support of shipbuilder key events,
- Provide engineering support for applying proper SFCC marking Engineering Reports, Change Notices, RIPOUTs, Dockside Test Procedures, etc.

Required:
- High school diploma/GED
- Candidate must be from an organization outside of Operations (Gildart/Gabriel).
Preferred:
- 2 or 4 year college degree. 5+ years’ experience.
- Working knowledge of the FBW requirements manual and FBW boundary books; Understanding of EB’s Quality Assurance policies and procedures; Experience with key event management and ship certification support; knowledge of construction sequence;
- US Navy experience involving the operation and maintenance of ship control or other control systems is highly desirable.
