JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Shipping & Receiving Manager

Position: Exempt

Location: Asheboro NC

Manager: Yes

Reports to: Materials Leader

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The focus of this position will be the coordination of all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities. Position is day shift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure proper processing of shipping and receiving requirements in an organized and timely format under the direction of the Materials Leader.
• Maintain the warehouse in a very clean, organized manner to the satisfaction of the Leadership Team

• Schedule/coordinate shipments and paperwork using customer based online portals
• Coordinate the loading and unloading of all trucks as required.
• Keep the shipping/receiving area as well as other areas where raw materials or supplies are stored, clean and always organized.
• Ensure all paperwork for outbound shipments and materials received are stored in a neat and organized manner
• Ensure cycle count accuracy of all warehouse locations >=98%
• Ensure all packaging materials are ordered/stocked at appropriate levels
• Report metrics to Leadership team (OTD, Sales, Accuracy etc)
• Approve time off and bi-weekly payroll for employees reporting to you
• Complete annual reviews for employees reporting to you
• Ensure safety in the warehouse
• Maintain Forklift Training log keeping employee certifications up to date and ensuring new employees with prior forklift experience are tested and certified in compliance with company policies
• Assist in other areas as needed

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Graduate at a minimum.
• Must be able to work independently and strive to improve processes
• Good computer skills as well as having the physical ability to move heavy shipping and receiving items.
• Forklift operator certified
• Prior Experience in a Manufacturing Warehouse environment with supervisory responsibilities
• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
• General Knowledge of Inventory Control and Cycle Counting functions
• General Knowledge of transportation terminology and paperwork
