Job description
Position Title: GMP Shipping Manager
Job Descriptions:
- Responsible for management and oversight of one or more warehouse, transportation and building logistic technicians.
- Responsible for management of staff in multiple buildings.
- Responsible for planning warehouse activities for assigned areas.
- Ensure that warehouse and transportation facilities, equipment, process, and procedures are compliant with cGMP requirements and/or other applicable regulations.
- Accountable to have all work areas, documented procedures, training and certifications, equipment “audit ready” at all times.
- Ensures that written procedures describing the warehousing and transportation operations are controlled and followed.
- Ensures that warehousing and transport equipment is in good and safe working condition.
- Ensure that the procedures used for warehousing and transportation have safety aspects incorporated and that the instructions can be followed safely.
- Provides guidance and assistance for timely completion of all required training and certifications for assigned roles.
- Works with Human Resources to ensure training and certifications are aligned for audit purposes.
- Ensures warehousing activities follow approved cGMP procedures and are documented according to cGMP requirements.
- Ensures hazardous materials are handled, prepared for transport, and transported following the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and corrected to ensure the safety, purity, quality, and effectiveness of all materials handled.
- Responsible for ensuring that safety risks are identified and corrective actions are put in place.
- Ensures that there are an adequate number of personnel who poses an adequate combination of education, experience, and training in accordance to cGMP requirements.
- Ensures that area staff have the appropriate training curriculum assigned and are trained to perform assigned warehouse activities o
- Ensures that staff are compliant in Learning Management System (LMS)
- Ensure that no-conformances are reported promptly to the Quality Control unit, investigated per procedures.
- Accountable for conducting all safety incident investigations from root cause analysis (RCA) all the way through implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensures that corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are managed and closed according to procedures.
- Ensures the requirements of the Quality Management System are fulfilled.
- Alerts senior management of significant quality, compliance, supply, and safety risks.
- Provides Area Management level monthly reports (metrics) and provides input for Executive Business Reviews (EBRs).
- Supports continual improvement programs, initiatives and projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical Industries
- Understanding of GMP’s and SOP’s
- Valid Driver’s License and delivery driving experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull heavy loads using material handling equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Must be willing to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV)
Preferred qualifications
- Polished GMP professional with Warehousing, Dispensing, Manufacturing or Quality experience
- Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles
- SAP/MES experience and knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Solid math skills
- Familiar with scales & weighing
- Familiarity with chemical handling & PPE
- DOT/IATA certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
