Job description
This position is responsible for a proficiency of both the shipping and receiving functions throughout the facility. This is a 1st shift position with occasional mandatory overtime before/after the shift or on weekends depending on staffing and production needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Responsible for handling all day-to-day shipping responsibilities including contacting carriers, completing RFTs, manual shipping, bulk shipping, and international shipments (documentation, AES, working with freight forwarders).
- Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs.
- Operate a forklift or equipment to move product throughout the facility.
- Process orders based on customer and/or Quality requirements (preferred shipping systems, additional QA inspection, etc.)
- Provide shipping information support to Customer Service including writing manifests for claims, filing claims, and providing freight quotes and tracking information upon request.
- Support Materials in maintaining all COOs and customer spreadsheets.
- Perform daily audits of orders shipped through UPS Worldship and the MRP system.
- Prepare shipment approval listing to comply with SOX requirements.
- Responsible for unloading and staging all inbound deliveries, including but not limited to purchased components, indirect material, returns, and equipment.
- Complete the receiving transactions for all direct and indirect material in the MRP system.
- Communicate and escalate Supply Chain issues within the Materials Department.
- Maintain an accurate Kanban system for specified parts.
- Pull samples for Quality Assurance review and puts parts away upon passing inspection, including delivering to point-of-use when needed.
- Coordinate with the Materials Department to schedule inbound deliveries as needed.
- Document and report any and all OS&D issues with deliveries.
- Responsible to use FIFO material handling (First In First Out).
- Maintain 5S in designated areas.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
MANAGEMENT:
- No positions report to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years’ experience in an inventory control, receiving, and/or shipping in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Proficient in using a computer. Experience using Microsoft Office preferred.
- Must be able to obtain a tow motor license and operate all tow motors within the plant.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move throughout the plant and office areas.
- Alternates between sitting, standing, and moving within the work area.
- Must be able to manipulate equipment used in performance of tasks.
- Physical demands include heavy lifting (50 lbs.) and bending.
- Other demands include but are not limited to oral, written, and presentation/communications skills.

- Works in a plant environment.
- Will have regular exposure to office environment.
