Job Summary:
Oversees and supports shop and equipment operations; Supervises and trains mechanic technicians and diesel mechanics; Works directly with Parts Manager to ensure inventory of on-hand part and supplies. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise shop mechanics by outlining work and ensuring tasks are completed as required.
Provides guidance and training to mechanic technicians and diesel mechanics.
Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items.
Works directly with Parts Manager to request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
Keeps up to date with knowledge and skills by participating in applicable educational opportunities Performs all work in accordance with schedules, policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates degree in related field; and
- 5 years experience with truck/automotive repair, heavy equipment, and parts inventory; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver's license. Must be insurable.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of diesel and standard motors for trucks, automotives, and heavy equipment.
- Basic knowledge of operating computer systems
