Best Western Plus Kansas City Airport-KCI East in Kansas City, MO is looking for one shuttle driver to join our 35 person strong team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and hard-working.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under general supervision, provides porter services to hotel guests and ensures their satisfaction and comfort by promptly and courteously responding to guest requests.

Transport hotel guests to and from the airport and other requested and assigned locations. Assist arriving and departing guests by opening and closing doors for incoming and outgoing guests, loading and unloading guest luggage from courtesy shuttle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Upon arrival, greets and assists guests by helping unload luggage from vehicle and transporting to their room, personally carrying the luggage or using a luggage cart.

Upon departure, assists the guest by transporting luggage from room to lobby, and helping the guest load luggage into vehicle.

Responds to guest needs by promptly delivering laundry, newspapers, iron & ironing board, additional linens, etc., in person. Maintains written log recording these requests and deliveries.

Responds to inquiries and promotes the hotels services, in person and on telephone, by explaining products/services. Provides the guest with up-to-date hotel information in order to enhance customer relations.

Keeps abreast of local activities and the area's establishments in order to answer questions, recommend and give directions.

Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.

Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Driving hotel guests to and from the airport and other assigned trips, obeying all traffic rules and regulations constantly throughout shift to ensure a safe, accident-free trip.

Assist guest with storage and retrieving their luggage from the shuttle.

Open vehicles and hotel doors to assist guests.

Respond to guest questions, issues and problems regarding transportation, hotel services and local events, points of interest and activities.

Maintain the hotel shuttle; gas, oil, cleanliness; filling in daily van reports and reporting any malfunctions on a daily basis.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleans lobby areas and entrances and maintains free of debris in order to present a clean and attractive facility to customers.

Provides assistance to other employees and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

Must have general knowledge of basic customer service skills and be fluent in oral and written English.

Must have knowledge of local establishments, businesses and the surrounding community in general.

Must be able to drive a 15 passenger van.

Excellent driving record and must be maintained.

Skills

Must have vision ability see objects and people at a distance.

Must have finger, hand and upper body dexterity to grasp handles, carry bundles and lift packages.

Must have upper body strength to continually lift and carry up to 65lbs throughout the hotel during entire shift.

Abilities

Must be able to communicate verbally and understand and follow verbal instruction.

Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems.

Candidate must be able to pass all background and DMV (driving) checks

High School diploma or equivalent

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $9.00 - $11.00/hour.
