General construction team member / residential

Root Construction is looking for a talented Skilled General Construction Carpenter with a minimum of 5 years of experience working on high-end residential, new construction and remodel projects. This carpenter should be one who typically has experience in more than one trade. Most of our projects are in the Los Angeles area (typical locations include Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Hollywood Hills, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Calabasas, Studio City, Etc.) Root Construction is a successful small family owned residential construction company that has been in business for 16 years. We are looking for a couple new team members to join our construction family and hopefully stay on board for many years.

The ideal candidate will be a hands on construction team member at the job sites, who reports directly to either the Site Superintendent or Project Manager daily. We are looking for someone that may have knowledge and experience in basic carpentry as well as a few other trades and is interested in increasing their skill set and grow with our company. Potentially moving up the ladder to supervisory positions if desired. There is always room for future growth and advancement within the company.

Desired Skills & Qualifications in two or more of the following:

• Minimum of 5 years as a general tradesman in one or more of the following fields:
• Rough & Finish Carpentry knowledge and experience
• Concrete foundation and finish experience
• Door hanging and window installation experience
• Proper general flashing and waterproofing knowledge and experience
• Drywall, Tile, Stucco and painting experience a plus
• Knowledge of all standard construction tools, equipment, machinery, methods and procedures
• Able to read plans
• Able to communicate effectively over phone and text with management
• Abel to lift at least 50lbs
• Prompt and on time to work each day
• Attention to details
• Dependable & Reliable
• Spanish speaking skills a plus

Job Requirements:

• Could be working at several different construction sites throughout the month.
• Ability to multi task
• Understanding and knowledge of construction the process, basic building codes, construction sequencing
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times and have a positive relationship with customers, contractors and other employees.
• Maintain safe worksites in compliance with State and federal safety regulations (such as OSHA and CDPHE) and participate in weekly site safety meetings
• Communicate well with team members, project managers and other subcontractors/ trades
• Must have a valid California Drivers License
• Must be eligible to work in the US
• Must have own reliable vehicle, truck preferred
• This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, for a standard 8 hr shift
• Good judgment and problem solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overtime
