Job Description
Title: SLP Job Opening in Waimea, Hawaii
We are seeking a Speech Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and cover our two regional hospitals (KVMH and SMMH) in Waimea, HI. The ideal candidate will provide diagnostic evaluations and/or direct services in speech-language and swallowing for acute, swingbed, SNF, and LTC settings.
Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and treatments for swallow, communication, and cognition
Independently provide diagnostic evaluations and/or direct services in speech-language and swallowing
Work and coordinate services with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and other appropriate staff
Assess data reflective of the patients' status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements
Requirements:
Possess knowledge of anatomy and physiology of speech and swallow mechanism and the principles of growth and development over the life span
Hold licensure with the current Hawaii State Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology
Ability to provide care needed by adolescent (11-18 years), adult (19-64 years), and geriatric (65 years plus) patient groups
Note: This position will travel between two hospitals depending on the day. All new travelers must be 100% Covid-19 vaccinated. There will be no exceptions. Post 2 weeks to be considered fully vaccinated (2nd dose).
