THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a senior social media analyst to help us optimize our approach to social media and drive growth within our social channels.
Reporting to the Digital Services Digital Project team, the Senior Social Media Analyst role will also have a dotted line to the Vice President, Social Media Strategy in the Unified Social Media team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish tracking of social media data such that we are measuring both key performance indicators and performance indicators on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis with an eye toward engagement and revenue growth.
  • Creates and delivers ongoing reporting and insights on social media performance:
    • Identify client objectives, develop KPI frameworks, and map suitable analytics solutions to ensure we are reliably tracking and reporting on social media performance.
    • Establish a set of measures for our unified social media strategy and individual channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok) that are linked to our business goals to strengthen the Scholastic brand, better serve our customers, drive growth, increase loyalty and engagement in our programs and offerings.
    • Measures the performance on content on third party retailers.
    • Provides insights on the user behavior of our audiences as they engage with us on social media.
    • Provides insights on data from our social media tool that can help to monitor crises and measure our responses.
  • Partner with various stakeholders to build and test measurements:
    • Collaborate with our Data and Analytics and Search and Paid Media Planning teams to keep pixels updated and properly tagged for measurement purposes.
    • Partner with the Vice President, Social Media to establish a program to test and learn via A/B testing or other experiments, improvements and optimizations to our content on social media.
    • Partner with the Director of Community and Customer Service to analyze data from social listening tools and build proactive measurements.
    • Define measurements for paid media campaigns to grow eCommerce revenue in partnership with the Paid Media team.
  • Turn data into actionable insights that will help to improve the performance of our social media platforms and campaigns:
    • Update and continuously improve dashboards that will inform campaign activity, social media platform performance, and other measures that are key to the business.
    • Troubleshoot, test, and validate analytics implementations and tracking through various testing tools. Deliver testing results and work to Scholastic STS teams to fix or enhance data collection practices.
    • Conduct data analysis that surfaces new ideas and insights for the Unified Social Media team.
    • Pro-actively seek and use data sources to address stakeholder questions quickly and efficiently.
    • Educate stakeholders on the importance of online measurement & provide best practice guidance for technical aspects of analytics.
    • Provide instruction on campaign tagging and assist the Unified Social Media team with tag governance.
  • Support the Vice President, Social Media Strategy as a contributor to the social media unification strategy and roadmap:
    • Own strategic social media unification projects related to analytics.
    • Support other projects on the roadmap, as needed.
    • Define commitments for milestones. Own initiatives.
  • Be well-versed and attuned to the business models, opportunities, and best practices of social media platforms and modern brands. And help develop Scholastic’s overall social media competencies:
    • Deliver training, best practices, and tools to our internal stakeholders ensuring we are continuously improving while social media evolves.
    • Promote a culture of learning and development.

Qualifications
HOW YOU CAN FIT - Qualifications
  • Lover of books and reading.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in social media and analytics.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing performance on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok).
  • Experience with analytics and tools for owned and paid platforms including Google Analytics, visualization tools, Google Tag Managers, CRM systems, business intelligence tools, A/B testing tools. Adobe Analytics experience is a plus.
  • Loves learning and testing new technologies related to digital and social media analytics.
  • Passionate about data and helping people to understand how it works, what it can do, and how to help them.
  • Ability to manage, manipulate, and generate insights from large data sets.
  • A strong strategic, critical thinker, and problem solver.
  • A strong communicator who can translate complex data to others.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to be kind, flexible, and adaptive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective presentations.
