Job Description: Stewartville Public Schools is seeking outstanding applicants for a 1.0 F.T.E. social studies instructor for Stewartville Middle School.
Qualifications/Degree: Valid Minnesota Teaching License (5-12 Social Studies)
Position Summary: Stewartville Schools is seeking qualified applicants to join our current social studies team. The middle school courses include Minnesota History (6th), US History (7th) and Global Studies (8th).
Global Studies combines physical, human, political, and economic geography surveying basic geographic principles. As such, the course investigates global trends of populations, economic and political systems, the environment, and their impact on future generations.
In US History, students investigate people, issues, and events of our nation’s history from 1800 to the present. They examine the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and Supreme Court decisions for their impact on the American people, economy and governance structure.
In Minnesota History, the focus includes geographic, economic and civic understandings. Students study Minnesota history and its government, placing the state and its people within the context of the national story beginning with the indigenous people of the region to the present day.
