Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a national non-profit organization providing services to individuals with disabilities. We are celebrating over 100 years and are proud of our history! We are looking to hire a dynamic and compassionate Social Worker to work between our North and South School Sites.

JOB SUMMARY

The Social Worker is a non-exempt employee and is responsible for providing social services for family members of a child with a disability. The Social Worker will address problems or issues which may directly, or indirectly, impact the education and well-being of the child with the disability and their family.

QUALIFICATIONS: Social Worker

• Master’s Degree in Social Work required.
• PA Social Work License (or eligibility) required.
• Completion of educational credits needed to maintain license/certification required.
• Acceptable Criminal Record, Child Abuse and FBI checks required.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Social Worker

• Provide direct supportive services and advocacy to children and their families. Institute case management services and referrals to community agencies, mental health professionals, and other resources for the child and/or family.
• Implement interdisciplinary aspects of students’ current Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) which includes, but is not limited to: providing assistance in the classrooms, communication systems, behavioral interventions, feeding approaches, sensory diet, and mobility recommendations.
• Serve as a liaison between employees providing educational and/or therapeutic services to children and their family members.
• Serve as a liaison between Easterseals programs and community agencies, medical personnel, and local school districts and/or Intermediate Unit (IU) representatives.
• Maintain written records pertaining to the child’s family, including social histories, semi-annual social service notes, family needs survey, correspondence, and other documentation as required by the program.

BENEFITS:

Easterseals follows a typical school calendar in that we operate from late August–early June. The hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our full-time, non-exempt Social Worker works a 6-hour day, just 30 hours per week, 1230 hours per year! The hourly rate is $20.99. The annual salary is $25,817.
