Job description
The Department of Adult Corrections is seeking a Clinical Social Worker Supervisor located at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women (NCCIW) in Raleigh, NC. NCCIW is the state’s primary correctional facility for the female incarcerated population. Additionally, it supports the needs of the state’s other facilities serving incarcerated females. This position is located within NCCIW’s healthcare complex in the Behavioral Health section. It reports directly to the Health Services Program Manager III (Psychological Program Manager.)
The Social Work Clinical Supervisor (LCSW Supervisor) position is responsible for supervising clinical social work staff including associate (provisionally licensed) social workers and social work interns engaged in assessment, treatment planning, and individual therapy. The LCSW Supervisor works both directly and indirectly with offenders who have severe developmental and intellectual disabilities and/or complex mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The role includes assigning cases to subordinates, consulting as needed with staff and healthcare providers outside of social work, and routinely communicating with higher-level facility management.
Other duties include the supervision of aftercare planning for offenders on the mental health and IDD caseloads and offenders with medical needs that require community assistance.
The LCSW Supervisor functions as an interdisciplinary team member on the high-risk obstetrics team. Additionally, the Supervisor facilitates connecting offenders who are releasing with community resources, including but not limited to SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, specialized housing, and employment services. The LCSW Supervisor also oversees the Involuntary Commitment (IVC) process (as needed) for offenders releasing to the community. The LCSW Supervisor is directly involved in the guardianship process. The role also provides oversight of services provided by Social Worker II staff, including DAC Medicaid, DAC ADA and IDD services. The Supervisor also facilitates training for staff on community resources and works in conjunction with the other behavioral health supervisors on tasks involving audit readiness and quality assurance.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
Necessary Special Qualifications Licensure by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
