SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Software Engineer II.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

In search of a driven software engineer with the ability to research, design, develop, and test software for the virtual worlds technologies at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI.

Recent investigations into the use of virtual world technologies have focused on confined physical spaces that are easily replicated in a virtual environment. For example, a command & control center is a physical environment in which people interact with each other and the space they are in (i.e., attack consoles, displays, etc.) to manage information flow and decision making. By transforming physical mock ups into virtual objects the costs of rapid prototyping can be drastically reduced. This also allows operators to perform training duties remotely.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field of concentration in Computer Science.

Experience: 3+ years using C#, C++ in a windows enviornment. Ideal candidates would have all of the following: Git, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Visual Studio IDE, Virtual Machines (VMWare), OpenSim, Firestorm, Robust.

Not required but great to have: Windows Command Line, OpenGL, PowerShell, JavaScript, MySQL (including command line client), Familiarity with Agile development process (must participate in daily SCRUMs), Continuous Integration/Deployment using Jenkins, Scrum Master Certification.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - This position requires the following physical activities: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and looking at computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
