Overview:
In this position, you will lead all test activities associated with the development and deployment of a new Government business system solution. As an integral member of the Agile Development & Integration scrum teams, you will determine the optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions in order to assure compliance with applicable specifications. This system will be designed and developed within a low-code environment, hosted in a cloud and/or on-prem. Test activities will occur on cadence with agile development cycles to support the DevSecOps processes. You will be responsible for identifying system requirements from source documents for verification and validation; defining and validating resources needed to test system requirements; involvement in test planning, budgeting, resource coordination, test execution and reporting. You will be responsible for providing all test event results and the identification and resolution of system design deficiencies, especially those that create a user defined requirement non-compliance. is seeking a Software Test Engineer to modernize a legacy government business system into a low-code application environment using agile software development and DevSecOps methodologies. This position will be based out of the Washington DC metro area with majority of work being performed remotely and support PCI, a BigBear.ai Company. Minimum travel may be required onsite to support key program planning events.

- Performs analysis of documented user requirements and directs or assists in the design of test plans in support of user requirements for moderately complex to complex software or IT systems
- Responsible for ensuring that the test design and documentation support all applicable clients, agency or industry standards timelines and budgets
- Responsible for ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented user requirements
- Establish a framework for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration
- Document and monitor testing outcomes and establish steps to remedy problems
- Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing procedures
- Detailed understanding of how to properly document test cases and create effective and focused testing plans
- Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved
- Define clear goals for all aspects of a product test and develop steps for their proper execution
- Clearance: must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance
- BA/BS degree with 5+ years of experience, or;
- Associates Degree with 7+ years of experience, or;
- Advanced Degree (MA/MS) with 3+ years of experience, or;
- IAT Level II certification required (or the ability to obtain by September 2023)
- Experience in software development and testing (including automated testing tools)
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools
- Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
- Advanced understanding Experience with software engineering, customer experience and design architecture
- Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies and when certain strategies are recommended
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with various operating systems, cloud environments and backend programming
- Project development and leadership skills are essential in planning and overseeing project tests
- Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Agile CSM or SAFe certifications
- DoD IAT Level 2 Certification (i.e Security+)
