Responsibilities & Qualifications:We are seeking a Solutions Architect of Procurement to join our global Enterprise Architecture team! This is a newly created position designed to support our sustained growth and offers a unique opportunity to impact the business on a global level. The S.A. will drive the technology strategy and roadmap of the portfolio of applications and services in the assigned domain, ensuring that it will meet evolving business requirements while optimizing footprint, cost, obsolescence, and security factors.
Reporting to our Chief Enterprise Architect and serving as a technology expert, this role is a contributor to the development of the enterprise architecture practice and IT project execution, providing technical thought leadership, authoring reference design patterns, and hands-on solutions and delivering architecture work products.
This role is essential to the long-term success of Novelis' digital journey, considering an outstanding volume of technological advancements, process improvement initiatives, and business growth opportunities!
Responsibilities:
- Establish trust and influence a diverse group of partners across global and regional IT teams and the IT Business Relationship Managers (BRMs).
- Create and communicate a clear architecture vision and strategy to support the development of business capabilities, including application rationalization.
- Engage with BRMs and other key team members to understand the business strategy for the assigned domain(s), create and lead mapping of global and regional solutions to business capabilities, and define capabilities roadmap to advise technology strategy.
- Serve as the architecture expert, with a focus on the assigned domain(s), advising on resourcing and implementation of global and regional solutions, creating associated architecture work products, and contributing hands-on to the delivery of working solutions.
- Ensure that solutions are delivered following relevant best practices, principles, and standards, including documentation.
- Identify and drive improvements in enabling technologies across domains and regions, such as cloud-native services, connectivity and integration platforms, and common IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
- Guide application owners and portfolio managers on understanding application and portfolio health metrics, influencing prioritization of their efforts to remediate any obsolescence, security, or business continuity concerns.
- Promote organizational re-use of technologies and adoption of global solutions by identifying common capabilities, challenging process differences, and ensuring that regional needs are represented in global solution development roadmaps.
- Collaborate with other architects and subject matter experts to drive the creation of an architecture knowledge base and acceptance of architecture standard practices.
- Identify, introduce, and maintain relevant tech stacks, design patterns, and architecture principles, reviewing and documenting deviations.
- Lead the process of new technology introduction, including initial architecture assessment, solutioning and design effort, technical and executive reviews.
- Maintain knowledge of existing solutions and emerging technologies to advise stakeholders on near and long-term strategic influences.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, business, data, application, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive architecture experience.
- 5+ years of architecture experience focused on solutions in assigned functional areas ecosystems.
- Contextual knowledge of assigned functional business processes, technologies, and ecosystem.
- Demonstrated use of architecture principles and practices when making decisions.
- Expertise in designing solutions and crafting associated work products.
- Experience creating architecture and technology roadmaps aligned to business strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and design alternative solution approaches, articulating benefits and tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated communication skills to influence technical and non-technical partners, including executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of SAFe and TOGAF frameworks.
- Understanding of WCM, Lean, and/or Six Sigma business methodologies.
- Experience carrying out projects using Agile and Waterfall IT methodologies.
- Experience architecting solutions in Microsoft Azure and on-prem hybrid cloud environments.
- "Hands-on" experience evaluating new technologies and delivering Minimum Viable Products.
- Working knowledge of ERP, Procurement, Supplier Collaboration, TMS platforms and Middleware solutions such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle EBS, SAP IBP, Coupa, o9, and MuleSoft.
