Location: Carmel, Indiana; Eagan, Minnesota; Remote

MISO’s Solution Architect is responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders in designing, prototyping, and evaluating highly scalable solutions used to manage the power grid for 42 million people. You’ll engage stakeholders applying architectural methods and producing architectural artifacts across multiple domains including business, data, application, infrastructure, and security with evidence of the achievement of business outcomes. The Solution Architect will:

  • Work collaboratively with external vendor development teams, internal Agile development teams, business stakeholders, and architecture team peers to deliver security, data-driven and standard-based solutions
  • Identify opportunities to contribute architecturally on both newly-formed and in-flight project teams
  • Conduct assessments, design current state, future state, and roadmaps
  • Review and update technology standards and/or propose new standards
  • Develop solution roadmaps, target state solution architectures, and document design approaches with the delivery of specifications and working prototypes
  • Advance the state of application portfolio towards cloud-readiness through expert-level insights and advocacy
  • Contribute exemplars of executed patterns and technology to MISO’s Architecture Reference Library

We are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years’ software engineering and architecture experience with modern technologies
  • Design skills and the ability to translate design into Enabler(s)
  • Ability to communicate designs as models using modeling language like ArchiMate
  • Relevant technical and/or architecture certifications are preferred (TOGAF)

The appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.
