The Solution Architect (SA) must establish the overall vision of a marketing technology solution that is capable of integrating with a client’s technology stack. The SA will ensure that all new components align with this vision and meet the client’s requirements. The SA will collaborate with platform architects (e.g., database, application, interaction, and business intelligence), developers and other team members to execute a plan that translates that vision into a working solution.
The SA has a well-developed business sense, as well as understanding of commonly employed marketing technology tools, tactics, and processes. This background will allow the SA to craft a solution that aligns with our client’s objectives. The SA is not involved in coding, but has a strong understanding of application development concepts, allowing them to assess the capabilities and limitations of the various solution alternatives. The SA should understand which marketing technologies are best suited for the client’s needs.
The SA must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Solution Architect will be expected to participate in a pre-sales role and will be the face of our technical teams with both clients and prospects.
Position Objectives
- Oversee all areas of the marketing technology solution across platforms to support data management and enhancements, insights, interactions, and integration of various tools required for meeting defined business objectives
- Work with business stakeholders, developers, and other disciplines to understand business needs, design effective solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of the solution
- Ensure that knowledge transfer documentation is created and proper training is provided to client users, technical support teams, internal technical teams, and account management.
- Ensure solution meets performance criteria, customer SLAs, and compliance policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop discovery session questionnaire for new clients
- Facilitate requirements gathering and deliver business requirements document to the client
- Develop solution design document illustrating how the various platforms will work together to meet the client requirements with continual updates to ensure documentation is updated
- Work with architects to ensure the functional specifications align with the overall solution design
- Work closely with project and account management and serve as the voice of the technical teams in meetings or presentations.
- Responsible for the integration and user acceptance test plan for end to end solution testing and sign-off.
- Continuously evaluate and minimize solution risk
- Provide recommendations to management to inform decisions on proposed investments or solutions.
- Support sales team with solution scoping, presentations, demonstrations and use of project estimating tools
Required Skills
- Proven ability to architect cross-platform, complex marketing technology solutions
- Platforms include database, marketing automation, business intelligence, analytics, big data, and applications
- Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with non-technical personnel
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams
- Excellent critical thinking capabilities and ability to work independently to resolve complex issues
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent technical training
- 8-10 years relevant experience
- Experience with various project management methodologies for solution delivery
- Deep understanding of marketing data acquisition, data pipelines, and ELT workflows (working knowledge of Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, or Mattilion would be a plus!)
The national pay range for this role is $94,400 to $190,600 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
