About the role:

Join Takeda as a sourcing enablement specialist where you will be part of a newly formed function within Takeda with the objective of enabling Takeda’s business strategy, delivering simplification and cost reduction, improving service and providing a transformation engine for continuous improvement for Takeda. ‘Building and Delivering Simplified and Innovative Solutions’ is our overarching vision with Patients at the center of all that we do.

The sourcing enablement specialist supports the implementation of category strategies by coordinating and executing sourcing events from supplier identification to contract finalization. The sourcing enablement specialist will be the main contact point for suppliers during sourcing / tendering processes and operates within the guidelines and instructions provided by GREFP category buyers. The position also coordinates the entire relationship with a vendor on a regional/local level up until contracts are signed and tasks are handed over to Supplier enablement and requisition to order teams

How you will contribute:

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with relevant Takeda teams especially the category management team
  • Plan, organize and manage sourcing projects defining clear project scope and objectives; utilizing appropriate software and tools to plan, track and report status
    • Ensure sourcing projects are executed in line with category strategies, and in compliance with relevant Takeda policies and operating procedures, including utilizing preferred supplier agreements,
  • Carefully monitor and support sourcing execution and negotiations under the guidance of the Category team (acting as an escalation point on related issues).
  • Analyze spend, supply markets and competitors. Extracting, cleansing and consolidating data gathered during the sourcing project into fact-based recommendations and provide as input to the Category team for use in the decision-making process. (Final accountability for selecting a vendor rests with the budget owner / business stakeholder and GREFP)_
    • Maintain strong information flows back to Category team and identify and flag opportunities to aggregate demand and generate additional leverage during the sourcing process.
    • Contribute to overall savings opportunity identification and delivery.
    • Identify problems during the sourcing process, consider and suggest alternatives and mitigations; make balanced recommendations and business decisions.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or 3+ years operational procurement experience within contracting, eSourcing, spot-buying, tactical sourcing or other relevant procurement experience
  • Fluent in English and business level fluency in the region’s primary operating language
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding in supporting contract negotiation and development process
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing events
  • Experience or knowledge of offshore or shared service operating environments
