Human Active Technology (HAT), an ergonomic workspace manufacturer located in the Lehigh Valley of PA, is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Sourcing Specialist to support and operate from their production facility in Easton, PA. This person will be responsible for optimizing vendor selection and qualification so that deliverables are in strategic alignment with our goal to provide the highest quality products at a cost that delivers value to our customers. He/she will work continuously with domestic and international suppliers and all internal departments to ensure that our supply chain can optimally support operations with materials that are on-time and within quality and engineering specifications and requirements.

Job Responsibilities include:

· Deliver effective cross functional collaboration with all internal stakeholders regarding strategic sourcing activities and initiatives.

· Identify, assess and qualify new or more capable alternate sources for purchased items and services.

· Administer the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process for new (or modified) materials, components and products, which results in optimum exposure to the supplier network and informed decisions for the best outcome of vendor selection and program award.

· Provide oversight of supplier execution of First Article and pre-shipment inspection activities to validate that purchased items comply with quality and engineering specifications and standards.

· Negotiate pricing, lead-times and other terms and conditions with suppliers for initiating purchases and upload the resulting parameters into the Business (ERP) System for Buyers to efficiently procure the material requirements of the business.

· Manage all Sourcing records in the ERP System. This includes audits, assessments, quotations, formal contracts/agreements and purchase order status relative to new product launches and Engineering Change Notifications.

· Work with suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality Departments to resolve complex supplier non-conformances.

· Seek and accentuate information and feedback from suppliers and Engineering that results in more cost effective and reliable designs for manufacturability.

· Provide continuous support to the Operations departments to improve inventory turns rate, total cost and on-time delivery of purchases.

· Perform spend analysis and develop commodity strategies that yield targeted cost savings and business continuity.

· Complete other duties or special projects as assigned by the Director of Sourcing.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years of directly related work experience. Business, Engineering or Supply Chain degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a mechanical or electronic manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must have basic or higher level of computer skills that includes MS Excel and utilization of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Significant exposure to Quality Management Systems, MRP and Lean principles with an understanding of how they can improve the performance of a supply base.
  • Outstanding communication skill with the ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence internal and external parties throughout all levels of a business organization.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines while working in a rapid, high-pressure environment.
  • Self-starter, organized, and ability to work with minimal supervision. A critical thinker with problem solving skills.
