As a new Sous Chef, you will not be expected to know everything on your first day, but we hope that you will be eager and willing to learn everything! =) We are seeking dynamic leaders who thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment. In order to be truly successful in this position, candidates will need to have at least 2 years’ previous experience in a similar role. We need leaders who are passionate about food, the restaurant industry and are committed to leading the BOH staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

  • Accountable for the kitchen's inventory
  • Assist in overall staff training
  • Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
  • Help coordinate food and kitchenware orders
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients
  • Assist in the development of menu items
  • Standardize recipes and plate presentations
  • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
  • Be able to fill in around the kitchen as needed, including cooking when staff shortages occur.
  • Kitchen maintenance, cleanup, food storage and empty trash
  • Will assist the chef or restaurant manager with unpacking and stocking ingredients
  • Conduct line checks
  • Ensure timely rotation of all food product
  • Maintain the highest level of food quality obtainable
  • Ensure that proper preparation procedures have been completed
