Geoffrey’s Malibu, an Oceanside fine dining destination restaurant is currently seeking culinary professionals that are highly motivated career focused individuals that will provide direct support to the Executive Chef overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

The following tasks and responsibilities are under direct supervision of the Executive Chef

  • Work alongside Executive Chef to review assignments and develop menus
  • Must be able to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively
  • Must be a team leader while maintaining a team mentality
  • Must possess expertise of every station on the line and fill in where necessary
  • Candidates will uphold established standards at all times, maintain attention to detail while working with speed and accuracy during periods of high pressure and stress
  • Candidates will be responsible for training and education of staff; assist, develop and motivate staff on an ongoing basis
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and company policies

Requirements: * Candidates should have a substantial culinary background, possessing strong food knowledge

  • Candidates will be personable, great leaders, creative and well organized
  • Minimum of 2 years Sous Chef/lead line experience in a high volume restaurant
  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • Must be able to manage a team and work cohesively with all back of the house personnel
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Prior catering experience preferred but not required
  • Food safety certificate
  • Bilingual(English/Spanish) preferred but not required
  • Must have flexibility with schedule requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
